Tournament Format
Team Championship – Texas Scramble
The Team Championship utilizes the Texas Scramble format, where each team of four players starts each hole with each team member driving the ball. The best drive is selected, and all team members play their second shots from that spot. This process is repeated for each shot, including putts, until the ball is holed.
Rules:
- Team Setup: Each team must consist of four players. Mixed teams are allowed, and each member must contribute at least three tee shots during the round.
- Scoring: The team’s score for a hole is the number of strokes taken to hole the ball using the best shots from the team.
- Ball Placement: Within one club length of the chosen shot not nearer to the hole on the fairway. On the green, balls are placed within six inches from the chosen shot.
- Order of Play: Team members take turns in a set order to ensure that each player’s shots are used throughout the round.
- Tie-Break: Ties will be broken by a count-back method, starting with the lowest team score on the last hole and continuing backwards until a winner is found.
Individual Championship – Stroke Play
In the Individual Championship, competitors will play rounds of golf using the stroke play format. Each player competes as an individual, aiming to record the lowest possible score over 18 holes. The player with the fewest total strokes at the end of the round is declared the champion.
Handicap Requirement: Participants must have a handicap of 9 or lower to enter this competition.
Rules:
- Scoring: Each player counts the number of strokes taken on each hole, and the total is summed to determine their score for the round.
- Tees: Men will play from the men’s tees, and women will play from the women’s tees.
- Play Rules: Standard USGA rules apply unless otherwise stated. This includes adherence to rules about equipment, play conduct, and course-related decisions.
- Tie-Break: In case of a tie, the winner will be determined by the number of birdies scored throughout the round. If still tied, the count of pars, and then bogeys, will be used in that order to declare a winner.
